Scott Hanson shares his side of a viral video of a car crash

Scott Hanson witnessed a serious car accident earlier this week and the voice of NFL RedZone said he was in disbelief at the behavior of another person who was at the scene of the accident.

A video that went viral on TikTok and other social media platforms on Tuesday showed a person walking up to an overturned vehicle and retrieving a piece of watermelon from inside the car. As the person filmed the bizarre behavior, a passerby could be heard asking the person, “Dude, what are you doing?”

Many fans recognized the voice as Hanson’s. A visibly upset Hanson was then shown recording the person taking the video to show that the other person was fooling around at the scene of the accident.

Hanson confirmed that he was the man in the video and gave his side of the story, saying there was a “terrible accident” and that the person who took the video was “trying to exploit the situation for his social media.”

“Yes, I’m fine. I witnessed it – I wasn’t in either car. Horrible accident,” Hanson wrote. “I checked on the survivors and then saw this idiot trying to exploit the situation for his social media. I shouldn’t be surprised, but I was/am. Disheartening.”

Hanson also responded to another follower on X who asked if the voice in the video was the legendary RedZone.

“Yes. 2 people could have died and this clown was so excited about his Tik Tok. I couldn’t believe it. Do you know his name/identity? He took off when the cops pulled up. I filmed him in case what he was doing was illegal – (crime scene tampering?). So disappointing,” Hanson replied.

Hanson said the drivers of both cars appeared to be in “shock” but did not appear to have suffered any serious injuries.

We’ve seen Hanson handle some alarming situations with composure in the past, and it looks like he did the same at the scene of the accident.
