Transmission corridor alarm | Editorial

The U.S. Department of Energy is currently seeking public comment on a proposal to designate a five-mile-wide transmission corridor through much of Kansas, including Marshall County.

No local media outlet was notified of the comment period. The Advocate learned of it by chance from a helpful reader. It is obviously not being widely publicized. One has to wonder why this is, considering that so much private land could be taken up in this and other counties.
