The FBI has released a number of documents related to the murder of Gabby Petito.

Petito was murdered by her boyfriend Brian Laundrie in 2021 while the couple was traveling through parts of the United States.

The couple left their hometown of Blue Point, New York, in July 2021, but she never returned home.

During their journey, Petito was killed by Laundrie – an act he admitted to in a letter he wrote before taking his own life.

The story attracted worldwide attention because Laundrie initially returned home without his girlfriend, prompting her parents to file a missing person report.

Laundrie was quickly named as a suspect, but then he too disappeared.

After weeks of searching, Laundrie’s body was found in a nature reserve not far from his parents’ home in Florida. A medical examiner later determined that he had committed suicide.

Now, three years after that tragic ordeal, new information about the relationship between Petito and Laundrie has come to light with the release of over 350 documents by the FBI.

One of the documents is a letter Petito wrote to Laundrie begging him to stop verbally abusing her.

According to E! News, part of the undated handwritten note read: “Please stop crying and stop calling me names because we are a team and I am here with you.”

“Yes, I know I can be a child sometimes, but that’s because you give me this energy and I just love you too much. So much that it hurts.”

It continued: “Your pain is killing me. I don’t mean to come across as negative, but I’m frustrated because I can’t do more.”

The FBI also released images of Petito and Laundrie’s belongings, as well as other federal documents related to the case and evidence.

After the 22-year-old’s death, Petito’s family filed a lawsuit against the police for $50 million.

The lawsuit was filed in 2022 and is still pending.

The Moab Police Department and three officers were named in the lawsuit.

Ten other unnamed defendants were also accused of “negligent neglect” in the investigation into an alleged attack by Laundrie on Petito before her disappearance.

Officials had visited Petitio and Laundrie while they were traveling after reports that he had beaten her, but did not arrest her then-23-year-old boyfriend.

Just a few days later, Petito was strangled by Laundrie.
