20 New Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers Coming to Houston

A fast-food concept plans to expand its presence in Texas with a 20-unit development deal in Houston through the Lone Star Custard Franchise Group, the company announced in a press release.

Dallas-area John, Nick and Joe DePinto used their company — familiar with Freddy’s business model — to expand 20 restaurants and acquire 18 restaurants in the Houston market.

“We are extremely proud of the impressive growth and success that the DePinto brothers have accomplished in the few years since they began their franchise with Freddy’s,” Andrew Thengvall, chief development officer, said in a statement.

Prior to the deal, Lone Star Custard opened 24 restaurants in Texas, including San Antonio, Austin and Rio Grande Valley.

“Freddy’s resonates so deeply with us, from the military values woven throughout the brand to their high-quality food and unwavering commitment to service. As a franchisor, Freddy’s offers invaluable advice and support which is particularly essential to us as franchisees. We “are incredibly proud to be part of a brand like Freddy’s and are excited to continue growing the brand in Texas,” Nick DePinto said in a statement.

It is unclear when the Houston restaurant development will be completed.

Freddy’s currently has more than 530 restaurants in 36 states with more than 130 locations in development between 2024 and 2025.
