Karan Johar speaks out on Kangana Ranaut slapping incident, says he ‘does not support verbal or physical violence’ | Bollywood News

Filmmaker Karan Johar on Wednesday commented on the slapping incident with actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut, and said he does not support any kind of “verbal or physical” violence. Last week, Kangana was slapped by a CISF policeman at Chandigarh airport, allegedly because of the actor’s comments on farmers’ protests. Karan Johar was present at the trailer launch of his next action film Kill. asked to comment on the incident.

When asked about the slapping incident, Karan told reporters, “Dekhiye, I do not support any form of violence, verbal or physical.”

Karan and Kangana have been at loggerheads ever since she called him the “flag-bearer of nepotism” on his talk show Koffee with Karan in 2017. Over the years, the actor has often criticised Karan for promoting nepotism in the film industry and has also often referred to him as the “film mafia”.

After the incident, the film star scolded those who had made derogatory remarks about the incident. Kangana had said that those who applauded the violence against her need to think about their own “psychological criminal tendencies”.

Festive offer

Composer Vishal Dadlani, who has been a vocal anti-establishment voice, had said he would be happy to offer the CISF personnel a job if they needed one after the incident. In two separate Instagram stories, the composer had said that if Kaur was “removed” from their services, he would ensure that she was “gainfully employed”.

Following a complaint from the CISF, the Mohali police had filed an FIR against Kulwinder Kaur under Sections 323 (intentional causing hurt) and 341 (wrongful confinement) of the Indian Penal Code.
