North Plainfield man killed in forklift accident at work

Police were called to Diamond Brite Metals, 333 Cedar Ave., in Middlesex on Tuesday for a report of a forklift accident.

MIDDLESEX, NJ — A Somerset County man was killed in a workplace accident in Middlesex County Tuesday morning, police said.

On June 11 at 7:17 a.m., Middlesex Police were called to Diamond Brite Metals at 333 Cedar Ave. for a report of a forklift accident.

The deceased employee was identified as Jimmy Fernando Parrales Mora, 46, of North Plainfield.

When police arrived on the scene, he was unconscious. It was determined that a metal beam had fallen and hit Parrales Mora while he was working. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Representatives of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are currently conducting an investigation.
