Passenger shot after man hijacks bus in downtown Atlanta, police say – WFTV

ATLANTA – A man is in custody after police say he hijacked a bus in downtown Atlanta.

According to police, the incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon.

Police said the action came after reports of shots being fired at a passenger bus.

When the officers arrived, the bus drove off and began a chase in the middle of rush hour traffic.

According to police, the bus skidded, collided with several cars and temporarily drove on the left side of the road.

While all this was happening, a passenger on the bus called her husband.

When the bus stopped, police found an adult shot dead.

The victim was taken to a hospital where he died.

According to police, the suspected armed kidnapper is a convicted felon who has already been arrested 19 times.
