Suspect arrested after fatal shooting in Wentzville

WENTZVILLE – One person is dead in Wentzville following a fatal shooting late Tuesday night.

The shooting occurred around 10:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of Hidden Valley Drive.
Two men were involved in the murder. Police are still at the scene, hours after the murder.

Investigators are still trying to piece together all the facts about the shooting. When officers arrived, they found one of the men suffering from a gunshot wound.

According to police, doctors declared the man dead. The other man, who is considered a suspect, ran away before officers arrived at the scene.

Authorities received a tip from motion detection on a Ring camera that the suspect was still in the area. This helped identify the suspect and led to his arrest by police.

Police have contacted a woman at the scene who is cooperating with authorities. It is unclear what her relationship is to those involved in the shooting.
