Residents of a suburb of Derby report being harassed by an angry crow.

Numerous people have reported attacks by the bird in the Prince Charles Avenue area of Mackworth on their local community’s social media pages.

Jackie Fitch, who works at a bakery down the street, said it was believed the bird was nesting in the area.

“There was a woman with a mobile phone, she was walking along the path talking to someone when the phone picked her up,” she told the BBC. “You just see people running away.”

“Every now and then it feels threatened and wants to protect its offspring.”

The incidents – several of which are said to have occurred on Thursday – have sparked fear of attacks among residents.

Adele Clarkson, who lives in Woodford Road, said: “I saw a big, massive bird land in my front garden and I thought it was going to fly into the window.”

“The Mackworth estate is very park-like and could therefore be located anywhere.

“I’ll keep an eye out for it now.”
