USA reportedly sending another Patriot missile system to Ukraine

The US will supply Ukraine with another Patriot missile system, The New York Times The Associated Press reported this, citing officials familiar with the matter.

President Joe Biden has approved the use of the Patriot system, officials said, but an official announcement is still pending.

This would be the second Patriot system the US will deliver to Kyiv after Russia’s large-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

The new system will come from Poland and could be deployed on the front lines in Ukraine in the next few days. The New York Times reported.

Since the beginning of the war, the Pentagon has supplied Kiev with an undisclosed number of missiles for the system to help Kiev defend against Russian air attacks.

Last month, Zelensky called on the United States to supply American-made Patriot systems, arguing that they would help his armed forces combat the nearly 3,000 bombs he says Russia fires at the country every month.
