Amber Alert issued in Iowa City: Child found

IOWA CITY, Iowa — TO UPDATE: The Amber Alert issued for Ophelia Barton has been lifted after the Iowa State Patrol issued an update Tuesday evening saying she had been found unharmed. The original story is below.

A national Amber Alert has been issued for Ophelia Barton, a 15-year-old female with brown hair and hazel eyes. She is 5’10” tall, weighs 80 lbs., and has a body weight of 80 lbs. At the time of her abduction, she was wearing a short-sleeved Disney shirt and red shorts. She was last seen on June 10.

The suspect vehicle is a blue 2014 Jeep Compass with Iowa license plate LIU044, driven by 42-year-old Lindsey Anne White, a 5’3″ tall, 165 pound white female with reddish brown hair and green eyes.

Police believe they are headed to the town of Nichols in Muscatine County, about a half-hour southeast of Iowa City.
