A man was sentenced to nine and a half years in prison for raping his former partner in the southeast of the country seven years ago.

The 37-year-old pleaded not guilty to six counts of rape at an address in County Wexford on 18 May 2017, but was found guilty of all charges by a jury at the Central Criminal Court in March. To protect the victim’s anonymity, his name cannot be disclosed.
