As night falls Wednesday into Thursday, there will be a 31-alarm day overnight with damaging winds up to 60 miles per hour, large hail and the threat of tornadoes. The cold front responsible for the storms will reach the Shoals around 1-2 a.m., enter the I-65 corridor around 3-4 a.m., and move into Sand Mountain around 5-6 a.m. Thursday.
