Accidental shooting, garage incident, police car crash and more

Last weekend, an accidental shooting reportedly occurred in the 10th block of East Broadway Street.

A woman arrived at Intermountain Health St. James Hospital with a gunshot wound around 5:30 a.m. Saturday. The unidentified woman told officers she was sitting in the front seat of a car when a man who got out of the car shot her when a shot went off from his gun.

The bullet went through the front seat and hit the woman just above her right hip. The woman told police the shot was accidental.

At 2:30 a.m. Monday, Harold K. Walker Jr., 25, of Butte was the driver of a Ford Explorer with three passengers when he allegedly crashed into a concrete wall on the fourth floor of the Park Street parking garage.

A 17-year-old girl was taken to St. James with a facial injury. A 20-year-old man who was also in the SUV was reportedly very intoxicated.

Walker was arrested for driving under the influence (second offense), two counts of selling or furnishing alcohol to a person under 21, reckless driving, and three counts of criminal endangerment.

Shortly before 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, the driver’s door of a police car was hit during an investigation.

The driver’s door of the officer’s SUV was damaged in the 300 block of South Montana Street.

Stephen Thompson, 54, of Butte was driving a 2010 Chevy pickup when he struck the door with his truck mirror. Thompson was arrested for driving under the influence (second offense).

David D. Russo, 43, of Kalispell had been asked several times by police and staff at Town Pump, 531 S. Montana St., to leave the premises and not return.

Russo decided to stay and was taken into custody for trespassing at around 3:20 a.m. Monday morning.

On Saturday, a Montana Highway Patrol officer arrested Keaton D. Burk, 24, of Butte, for intimidation.

Laurie L. Catalino, 62, of Clancy was asked by security and police at Intermountain Health St. James Hospital to leave the facility at 11 p.m. Friday, but she decided to stay.

Her decision resulted in officers taking her into custody for trespassing.

Joshua V. Wobig, 49, of Butte, who had previously been told he was not welcome at Walmart, was arrested Friday in the store’s parking lot for trespassing.

Officers investigated a disturbance in the 1100 block of Farrell Street on Monday. At the scene was Travis L. Price, 42, of Butte, who had an outstanding warrant for driving under the influence (fourth or subsequent offense).

Timothy L. Holley, 45, of Butte, was taken into custody Monday on two counts of misdemeanor.

A man who lives in the 2200 block of Pine Street reported that an unknown person put sugar or salt in his gas tank last Friday.

A guest staying at the Best Western Butte Plaza Inn, 2900 Harrison Ave., had his gray 2015 Toyota Camry stolen Saturday morning.

Late Saturday night, dispatch received a call about a suspicious package in the 600 block of East Platinum Street. It turned out that the package contained old electronics with cords hanging out.
