Section of Huntingdon Pk/Byberry Rd closed due to an accident

The Lower Moreland Police Department announced today at 4:40 p.m. that the perimeter of Huntingdon Pike and Byberry Road in Huntingdon Valley is closed due to a car accident.

Officers are currently on site until the road is cleared. Officers are asking drivers to avoid the area for now.

According to Emergency Alerts of Southeastern Pennsylvania, several firefighters were also dispatched to the scene. Rescue efforts were completed at 4:46 p.m., the agency said.

Update: The road was reopened around 5:30 p.m., Lower Moreland police said.
