Lanett Police Investigate Series of Armed Robberies

LANETT, Ala. (WRBL) — The Lanett Police Department (LPD) is currently investigating a series of armed robberies that occurred in the Town of Lanett on May 12.

Authorities say there have been four robberies in the city, all targeting members of Lanett’s Hispanic community. The suspects appear to be between the ages of 16 and 25.


According to police, the suspects were armed with various firearms at the time of the robberies and a red 2014 KIA Forte was stolen during one robbery.

The LPD said it executed a search and arrest warrant on Friday for a juvenile connected to the case. Police say the juvenile will be charged as an adult due to the use of a firearm in the robbery.

Investigators believe that other suspects may be involved in the incident.
