Details on the entire incident are limited, so not much information is available. From what we understand, the Waller County Sheriff’s Office shared via Facebook that officers with the Navasota PD received a call in early June requesting a welfare check on an unidentified man in Waller, Texas.

Moments later, Waller Police officers notified Navasota Police that the man had been found dead and turned the investigation over to the Sheriff’s Office, which was to treat the incident as a homicide.

The cause of death is unclear, but several days later officials said they had reviewed and collected enough evidence to name Joshua Land, the man’s son, as a suspect and file murder charges against him.

No further information has been released and it is unclear whether Joshua Land is in custody. However, the investigation is ongoing.
