Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run in Ronkonkoma, police looking for driver

RONKONKOMA, NY – Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is asking the public for help in locating the driver police say was involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash in Ronkonkoma in May.

Elyse Crivaro, 21, of Holbrook, was in the roadway on Ronkonkoma Avenue, near Third Street, when she was struck by a dark-colored Toyota Prius traveling southbound around 3:20 a.m., police said. Crivaro, 21, of Holbrook, was pronounced dead at Stony Brook University Hospital, police said.

The police released surveillance footage of the car. The hit-and-run accident is not visible on the video.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and leave an anonymous tip by calling 1-800-220-TIPS.
