State authorities are currently investigating the shocking death of a Disneyland employee last week. The employee suffered severe head injuries in the park and died.

Bonnye Lear, a 60-year-old administrator, was reportedly riding a golf cart through Disneyland when she fell and hit her head. The incident occurred in a backstage area of Disneyland Park on Friday, June 5.

The area is known as Critter Country and is currently undergoing a major, large-scale renovation as work continues on the park’s upcoming new attraction, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. The water attraction will officially open at Florida’s Magic Kingdom this summer, with the opening at Disneyland to follow later this year.

As a result, Critter Country and its attractions are covered with construction walls and materials and trails are temporarily closed.
