Glasgow doctor suspended for second time after being convicted of stalking a woman

A Glasgow doctor has been suspended again for showing a “lack of insight” into his actions. He was previously convicted of stalking a woman and sending her “hundreds” of messages on topics including rape and murder.

Dr Anatta Nergui was sentenced at Glasgow Sheriff Court on 18 March 2020 after pleading guilty to a number of offences including resisting arrest. The court sentenced the psychiatrist to an 18-month suspended sentence and 150 hours of unpaid work.

Following the trial, Nergui was suspended by the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS) for 12 months in 2023 – the maximum period of suspension that can be imposed. The case was heard again before the tribunal on 30 May this year.
