Woman dies in multi-vehicle crash on Avenue J in Lancaster

LANCASTER, CA (June 11, 2024) – A woman died Sunday evening in a multi-car crash at the corner of Avenue J and 255th Street.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal multi-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 10:24 p.m. For unknown reasons, at least two cars collided on East Avenue J east of 255th Street East. Los Angeles County Fire Department subsequently responded and found a fatally injured female passenger and a black Toyota sedan. In addition, they found a vehicle about 300 feet from the roadway with a broken rear window and the ignition pushed out, leading officers to believe someone had stolen the equipment before abandoning the car.

Based on the evidence, police believe that a third car left the scene of the accident.

At this time, authorities have not released the woman’s name or determined the cause of the accident. However, if anyone could help local authorities determine the cause of the accident, please contact the CHP.
