Investigations into stolen trailer lead to discovery of large quantity of illegal drugs

ORANGEBURG, SC (WOLO)– Sheriff Leroy Ravenell announced that the case, which resulted in a stolen trailer, ultimately led investigators to a quantity of illegal drugs.

Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office investigators were notified by a North man that his trailer had been posted on a social media marketplace and was discovered stolen that afternoon.

Investigators tracked the trailer to a residence on Millwood Farm Road, where they found the trailer still attached to the vehicle from the marketplace ad, Orangeburg officials say.

As officers approached an outbuilding of the house, investigators saw a man hand another man a bag that later turned out to contain marijuana.

“When we stopped to check the trailer, we ended up in the middle of a drug deal,” says Sheriff Ravenell.

The man said he only “smelled” the contents of the bag, the report said.

Several jars of marijuana, a large bag of marijuana, several bottles of THC syrup, THC vaporizers, gummy bears, extract oils, mushrooms, a digital scale, a food sealer and grinder, and other drug-related paraphernalia were found.

“The end result is the seizure of various types of narcotics and drug paraphernalia,” the sheriff continues.

Warrants have been issued for the arrest of 53-year-old Roger Salley. He is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to resell, trafficking in methamphetamine or cocaine base, criminal conspiracy, and possession of a firearm or ammunition by a convicted felon.

And Micky Robinson, 58, of Sumter, is charged with simple possession of marijuana.

“We have seized over 6,100 grams of marijuana that is not making it onto the street,” says the Orangeburg County Sheriff.
