China’s Defense Ministry describes incident involving Dutch ship as “disgusting”

China’s Defense Ministry warned the Netherlands on Tuesday to limit the actions of its naval and air forces after the Dutch Defense Ministry said Chinese fighter jets had unsafely approached a Dutch ship in the East China Sea.

“We deeply condemn the despicable nature of the Dutch side’s words and actions and have lodged serious complaints with them,” the Chinese Defense Ministry said.

Chinese Air Force jets circled a Dutch frigate and approached a Dutch helicopter in the East China Sea in a manner that “caused a potentially unsafe situation,” the Dutch Defense Ministry said on Saturday.
