Person found dead near San Ysidro port of entry last month

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Two weeks ago, a person was found dead near the U.S.-Mexico border, authorities said.

The San Diego sector of the U.S. Border Patrol reported the discovery around 4:30 p.m. on Monday, May 27, near the immediate border west of the San Ysidro port of entry, U.S. Customs and Border Protection confirmed to FOX 5/KUSI in an email on Monday.

Multiple agencies, including the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Professional Responsibility, the San Diego Police Department and the San Diego County Coroner’s Office, arrived on scene to investigate.

No further details have been given regarding the person’s cause of death.
