1 dead and 1 injured after double stabbing attack in Brockton, says prosecutor

According to Massachusetts authorities, one of the two people stabbed to death in a Brockton home Monday night has died. Brockton police said they received reports of a stabbing at 23 Melrose Avenue just before 7 p.m. Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz said his office’s detectives were notified of the stabbing at 7:40 p.m. Authorities said the stabbing victims suffered serious injuries and were taken to area hospitals. Cruz said one of the stabbing victims was pronounced dead. Brockton police are still looking for a suspect in connection with the stabbings. Cruz said the investigation is ongoing but noted that the stabbing does not appear to be a random act of violence.

Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz said his state police investigators were notified of the stabbing at 7:40 p.m.

According to authorities, the victims of the stabbing suffered serious injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals.

Cruz said one of the stabbing victims was pronounced dead.

Brockton police said they are still looking for a suspect in connection with the stabbings.
