Obituary of Otto Varga – Atlanta, Georgia (1971-2014)

With sad hearts, the family of Otto V. Varga announces his death. He fell asleep at his home in Atlanta, Georgia, and departed this world on April 4, 2014. He was preceded in death by his father, Otto Sandor Varga. Otto leaves behind his mother, Emma Eva, of North Aurora, Ill., a sister, Kathleen, of North Aurora, his brother-in-law John, with whom he loved to debate the merits of one car over another, and two nieces, Alicia. and Emese (Emma), who always tried to get him to eat his vegetables because they wanted him to be at their weddings. He also had two cats, Hayden and Blu, who brought him great joy and he missed their “daddy”. Otto was born in Park Ridge, Illinois on April 29, 1971. He had worked for Delta Airlines for 20 years and lived in Atlanta, Georgia for 15 years. He graduated from Northern Illinois University and was a member of Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity. Otto loved to travel and see the world. He also found a McDonald’s in almost every destination he visited! Otto took great pleasure in comparing cheeseburgers from different countries! A gathering of friends was hosted by Otto’s dear friend and Delta colleague, James Benson, in Atlanta, Georgia on Sunday, April 13, 2014. A memorial will be held by his family on Saturday, April 19 at 1 p.m. at Batavia United Methodist Church, 8 North Batavia Avenue, Batavia, IL 60510. Service will be at 1:30 p.m. Otto brought great joy to his friends around the world with his quick wit and fun sense of humor. He loved his family here and abroad and kept in touch with his friends and family in Hungary. As those who knew Otto will attest, he loved animals and his own cats came from a shelter. To honor Otto’s memory, please make a donation to your local animal shelter. It would please Otto to know that, at least, he was helping the animals beyond the grave.
