Man from Holdrege must serve 12 years in prison for sexually abusing a minor

A man from Holdrege was sentenced to more than 12 years in prison for sexually abusing a minor.

Collin A. Langford, 23, of Holdrege, was sentenced to 12 to 24 years in prison by the Nebraska Department of Corrections. In April, he pleaded guilty to first-degree sexual abuse of a minor. As part of the deal, a charge of sexually assaulting a child with an electronic communication device was dropped. Langford must register as a sex offender.

According to court documents, Langford had sex with a girl who was 13 at the time and repeatedly stayed in contact with her via social media.

When questioned by police, he said he knew the age of consent in Nebraska was 16 and that his behavior was illegal, but he didn’t care.

Martin P. Ramos Sr., 50, of Grand Island was sentenced to 100 days in the Lincoln County Detention Center. Piccolo gave him credit for 60 days of time already served. In May, Ramos pleaded no contest to violating a protection order.

Matthew J. Heimbuch, 38, pleaded not guilty to aggravated violation of a protective order and second-degree trespassing. He is free on bail of 10% of $5,000.

Caleb D. Hill, 22, was sentenced to 18 months in the Nebraska Department of Corrections. He was also sentenced to an additional 120 days after serving his first sentence. He admitted to violating the terms of his probation after his release. In August of last year, he pleaded no contest to the aggravated burglary charge. He pleaded no contest to the aggravated violation of a protection order charge.
