First Alert Weather: This week there will be more sun and warmer air

ROCHESTER, NY — If you love summer, Monday was a bit of a dreary day for you, but don’t worry — warmer and brighter days are ahead! The low pressure system that has kept us cool and cloudy with some fog and drizzle will move away. Meanwhile, high pressure is building in from the west. Clouds will remain persistent at first, some sun will return late Tuesday and temperatures will remain a good 10 degrees cooler than average, but things will improve considerably Wednesday. Wednesday will be mostly sunny with temperatures around 21 degrees. Temperatures will climb above 25 degrees on Thursday before a cold front brings us back above 21 degrees on Friday and Saturday. There will also be some showers and perhaps thunderstorms on Friday, but high pressure will quickly build back in for Father’s Day weekend.

Then things will really heat up! There are increasing signs that summer temperatures will return next week, with temperatures well above 25 degrees, possibly even just above 30 degrees, at least in the first half of next week.
