Strong storms are possible tomorrow night

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – Summer officially starts in June, but you wouldn’t know it today! Sunshine will help temperatures warm to the low 90s this afternoon. Humidity will be noticeable but manageable. Scattered showers could occur in the afternoon heat, but most places will remain dry today. However, that will not be the case tomorrow evening as the chance of rain increases.

Scattered rain and rumbling clouds will form on Thursday, these will be a hit but may be heavy in places where there is rapid rain or storms.

Several waves of rain and thunderstorms are possible from Thursday evening into early Friday morning. These storm clusters can produce damaging wind gusts and isolated large hailstones. While the risk of tornadoes is not zero, the lack of low shear will likely keep the danger at a very low level.

The rain and storms will continue to affect Georgia by late Friday morning; The rest of Friday looks sunny and pleasant, with afternoon temperatures in the upper 70s to lower 80s. The weekend will offer more sun than clouds and pleasantly cool weather. Temperatures will drop into the 50s at night and warm to 77-83 degrees Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
