Tiruchi district sports official suspended

P. Velmurugan, District Sports Officer, Tiruchi, has been suspended for alleged dereliction of duty. According to sources, the Member Secretary, Sports Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT) suspended him on Monday pending an inquiry. According to sources, Mr. Velmurugan allegedly failed to prevent the installation of a flex board on the Anna Stadium premises depicting a former minister who runs a sports academy. The flex board was installed on the occasion of the Tamil Nadu Senior Athletics Championship held on Saturday and Sunday.
