Wow Bao Bao Thai-Style Curry Chicken with Soy and Sesame

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has issued a warning to the public that Wow Bao Bao Thai-Style Curried Chicken contains soy and sesame, two of the top nine food allergens, which are not listed on the package label as required. The product may actually contain Teriyaki Chicken Bao, which is made with soy and sesame. For people with a soy and/or sesame allergy, consuming this product may cause a severe reaction. To date, the company has not received any confirmed reports of adverse reactions. The company issuing the recall is Wow Bao.

Wow Bao Bao Thai-Style Curry Chicken with Soy and Sesame

The fully cooked frozen Bao Curry Chicken product was packaged on March 20, 2024. The recalled item is 10-ounce cartons containing four bags of “Wow Bao Bao Thai-Style Curry Chicken.” The best-by date printed on the side of the carton is 4/12/25.

The product has establishment number P-40001 stamped in the USDA inspection mark. The item was sold at Walmart locations nationwide.

The problem was discovered and the alert issued when a customer notified the company that a box labeled “Bao Thai Curry Chicken” contained bags of Bao Teriyaki Chicken. A recall has not been requested because this product is no longer available to consumers. FSIS is concerned that this product is in consumers’ freezers.

Please check your freezer carefully to see if you have purchased this product. If so, and you are intolerant to sesame or soy, do not eat it. You may dispose of the item in a safe bin or return it to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
