YouTuber Comicstorian died in an accident at the age of 40

YouTuber Ben Potter, also known online as Comicstorian, has died at the age of 40 in what his wife described as an “unfortunate accident.”

Comicstorian was a YouTuber who spent over a decade creating content on the platform, producing audio comics, and celebrating all things Marvel and DC on his channel.

Ben Potter died over the weekend. His wife Nathalie Potter confirmed the news online on June 10, 2024.

“Two days ago, on June 8th, my husband Ben Potter passed away in an unfortunate accident,” revealed Nathalie. His wife then shared how deeply saddened she was by the news, while also acknowledging the impact Comicstorian has had on his viewers during his 10-year career on YouTube.

“His channel was one of his greatest achievements and while we all need time to mourn his loss, I know he would not have wanted it to end this way.

Ben has spent over 10 years spreading his love and appreciation for his hobbies. His love of engaging stories and well-written characters is what led him to start on YouTube.”

In addition, Nathalie later added that despite Ben’s death, she and friends plan to continue his “legacy” by “continuing to tell great stories about great people and keeping the memory of our very own superhero alive.”

In light of this news, numerous messages of condolence poured in online, with many expressing their condolences to Nathalie and reflecting on the impact Comicstorian had on their own lives.

One X user wrote: “Incredibly heartbreaking. Comicstorian was an absolutely incredible YouTuber who pioneered so much and got so many people reading comics. Devastating news. Rest in peace.”

Another added: “One of the goats of this room. RIP”

Comicstorian’s YouTube channel has over three million subscribers, and its content includes analysis of all things Marvel and DC, as well as creating its own series of audio comics.
