The Houston Astros have not lost their 67th game of the season since 2010, points out Barstool Sports; winning streak on the line against San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (KTRK) — There’s no sugar here. The Houston Astros are in dire need of wins with all the injuries they have been dealing with.

The 30-36 team has won six of its last 10 games since a three-game losing streak, but the defending AL West division champions had to catch up to the Seattle Mariners and Texas Rangers during that streak .

And the ‘Stros got a reminder of their futility Sunday when they blew a 7-5 lead in the eighth inning and then lost on a home run to the Los Angeles Angels.

It was game No. 66 of the season. However, you might feel better with game #67.

Let’s explain.

The Houston Astros have not lost their last 12 games played, the 67th in a full season.

Barstool Sports personality Nicky Smokes was the first to point this out on social media, and ABC13 confirmed it via the Baseball reference database.

What stands out is that this streak dates back to the team’s 100-loss seasons, when the Astros insisted that fans trust the rebuilding process after the 2000s.

But everything is not assured here. Despite this streak, five of those 67th games occurred when the team held a losing record. None of these losing teams made the playoffs.

Will Houston at least go five games under .500 on Monday night?
