WATCH: Beaverton man arrested after evading police at over 110 mph

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A Beaverton man is facing felony charges after he led police at speeds exceeding 110 mph (177 km/h) and then broke into a home on Friday, Portland police said.

Officers first responded to reports of a stolen 2010 green Subaru Outback station wagon in southeast Portland around 6:30 p.m. They then began pursuing the driver, later identified as 24-year-old Dalton Williams.

Williams – who authorities say has a history of illegal gun possession – was heading to the intersection of SE 122nd Avenue and Powell Boulevard when police said he eluded for 20 minutes while “driving extremely recklessly.”

“He sped through Southeast Portland, Gresham and Northeast Portland, on freeways, main roads, residential streets, even on the shoulder and in a bike lane,” police said. “During this time, the driver exceeded 110 miles per hour.”

The pursuit ended when Williams collided head-on with a Portland police car carrying two officers. He then ran on foot and briefly entered a home in northeast Portland before turning himself in to police, officials said.

Williams now faces several charges, including hit and run, eluding police and burglary.
