Woman allegedly attacked by man with hammer

A woman reported to Omaha police that she was stabbed and attacked with a hammer by her date Sunday night. At around 11 p.m., officers responded to the Kum & Go near West Maple Road and Emmet Street for a reported incident, according to a police report. According to a police report, officers responded to Kum & Go near West Maple Road and Emmet Street around 11 p.m. on a report of a cutting incident.

The seriously injured woman told officers that she had arranged to meet a man on a date in the parking lot of the soccer field at Tranquility Park, near 120th Street and West Maple Road, the police report said.

According to the police report, the man got into her vehicle and then stabbed and beat her with a hammer.

The victim said she hit him on the head and managed to free him from her vehicle before driving away, the police report said.

The incident is still under investigation.
