College credits: Buffalo Grove student-athlete recognized at UW-W

Howard Named Chancellor’s Scholar-Athlete at UW-Whitewater

Rebecca Howard, an elementary education major from Buffalo Grove and a member of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater bowling team, was one of 47 Warhawks recognized as 2023-24 Chancellor’s Scholar-Athletes presented by Northwestern Mutual. Howard was recognized in a ceremony Monday at the James R. Connor University Center by Chancellor Corey A. King and Athletic Director Ryan Callahan. To be recognized as a Scholar-Athlete, student-athletes must have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher through the end of the fall 2023 semester. Honorees must have participated in a varsity sport for two years, have a higher academic status and having accumulated at least 90 credits.
Each scholar-athlete received a commemorative gift.
