20 years strong: Atlanta Greek Picnic remains ultimate HBCU takeover

Morris Brown College will host the 20th Annual Atlanta Greek Picnic (AGP) June 25-30, 2024. This landmark event will welcome thousands of HBCU students, alumni and culture enthusiasts. Celebrating two decades, AGP will feature performances from Fabo, Roscoe Dash, Lil Ru and other surprise guests.

AGP’s mission is to maintain Divine 9 fraternity traditions while promoting the importance of financial, physical and mental health within the HBCU community.

Focus on mental health

Mental health remains a major concern within the African American community. The Office of Minority Health at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services reports that suicide is the second leading cause of death among African Americans ages 15 to 24. Despite this, only one in three African Americans who need mental health care receive it, according to the American organization. Psychiatric Association.

AGP launched the AGP Cares initiative in 2010 to give back to colleges and the broader black community. This year, AGP Cares will offer free mental health discussions with licensed therapists and various health screenings at the “AGP Cares Corner,” with the aim of bridging the mental health support gap.
