Car left hanging in the air after hitting fire hydrant in South OC

Two people were injured in the accident at the intersection of Jeronimo Road and Heidi Avenue.

LAKE FOREST, CA — Two people were hospitalized and a car was seen dramatically lifting off the ground after a traffic crash was reported in south Orange County on Saturday, June 8, authorities said.

The accident was reported after a sedan clipped a fire hydrant at the intersection of Jeronimo Road and Heidi Avenue in the city of Lake Forest around 6:30 p.m., the Orange County Fire Department reported.

Both drivers were able to climb out of their cars, while one vehicle was partially hanging over the burst hydrant due to extreme water pressure, officials said.

Further information on the condition of the drivers and the circumstances of the accident were not yet known on Monday.
