20-year-old from Center Point killed in accident

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama – A 20-year-old Center Point man died Friday from injuries sustained in a car crash in Birmingham, the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office said.

Markarris Jerrelle Thomas was involved in a two-vehicle crash near Carson Road and 23rd Avenue NW shortly after 1 p.m. on June 7.

According to BPD Sergeant LaQuitta Wade, both drivers were taken to a nearby hospital by Birmingham Fire and EMS.

Shortly after his arrival at the hospital, Thomas succumbed to his injuries
