Stabbing in bowling alley on Lower East Side: Three suspects sought for violent attack on man

The victim of a brutal stabbing at a Lower East Side bowling alley early Monday morning remains hospitalized as police search for his attacker, authorities said.

According to police sources, the incident occurred around 1:40 a.m. on June 10 in Gutter Bowling Alley near the corner of Broome and Essex Streets.

Police reported that a 21-year-old man was involved in a verbal argument with at least three other men, who eventually attacked the victim with a series of punches and kicks.

According to law enforcement sources, during the chaotic attack, one of the attackers pulled out a sharp object and slashed the man’s neck before fleeing the scene.

According to police, the victim, who was bleeding heavily from his neck and suffered a laceration to his head, apparently got into a vehicle and drove away from the scene without flagging down help. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition, but his condition has since been upgraded to stable.

Officials of the 7th District responded to the incident. As of Monday afternoon, detectives were still combing the bowling alley and examining video footage as part of their investigation. So far, no one has been arrested in the case.
