Settler attacks

Illegal Jewish settlers attacked Palestinian residents of Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, on Monday and uprooted olive and almond trees.

Ratib Al-Jabour, coordinator of the Popular and National Committees for Resistance to the Wall and Settlements, said several settlers attacked and beat the family of local resident Farid Al-Hamamda as they herded sheep in the Yatta desert.

Al-Jabour said the settlers had cut down olive and almond trees belonging to the same family for the third time in the last two days.

He pointed out that the settlers had intensified their attacks on residents and their properties in the Badia and Masafer Yatta areas. More than 200 fruit trees were uprooted in several areas in Masafer Yatta in the past week, he added.
