Director of Sericulture J&K suspended and reprimands staff for dereliction of duty – Rising Kashmir

In an important step to ensure efficiency and integrity of the department, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat (IAS), Director, Sericulture J&K, on ​​Monday suspended two employees and dismissed 15 staff members.

The suspended employees include a sericulture assistant and a seed inspector who were accused of neglecting their duties.

The decision to suspend these employees was taken after a thorough review of their performance and compliance with departmental protocols. The Director, Sericulture J&K underlined the critical importance of maintaining high standards in technical operations and development work, especially during the ongoing sericulture season.

Ajaz Ahmad Bhat (IAS), Director, Sericulture J&K, stressed that the current phase of sericulture is of crucial importance for the department and the farmers involved.

He stressed that any breach of duty could have a significant impact on the quality and yield of silk produced. Therefore, it is imperative for all officers and field officials to carry out their duties with utmost care and precision.

“We cannot afford to be negligent in our operations, especially during the sericulture season. Every step of the process, from technical operations to field work, needs to be carried out carefully. Our farmers and sericulture workers depend on our support and guidance to achieve successful breeding results,” explained Bhat.

The Director called for improved coordination and communication between the departmental officials/field staff and the sericulture farmers. He stressed that close cooperation and proactive support are essential to promptly resolve any problems and ensure smooth operations throughout the breeding period.

The suspension of these employees is a stern reminder to all employees of the Department’s commitment to accountability and excellence.
