1 teenager dead, 2 in hospital in Sunday’s crash in Warren County

WARREN COUNTY, Iowa – A 15-year-old is dead and two other teenagers were injured in a car crash Sunday evening in Warren County.

It happened west of Hartford near the intersection of 200^th Avenue and Delaware Street around 9:22 p.m., according to an Iowa State Patrol accident report. A Toyota Camry was traveling north when the driver lost control, entered the northbound ditch, overturned, and spun across a driveway. The report says the car continued to roll over, ejecting two of the three occupants.

At the time of the accident, none of the car’s occupants were wearing seat belts.

A 15-year-old was taken by air ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines and succumbed to his injuries.

The other passengers, a 16-year-old and a 15-year-old, were taken by ambulance to Des Moines hospitals. Their condition has not been released.

The names of the teenagers were not disclosed by the authorities.

The Iowa State Patrol is continuing its investigation into the crash.
