Accident on State Route 83 leaves three injured – WHIZ

NEW CONCORD, Ohio The State Highway Patrol is investigating a weekend crash on State Route 83 that left three people transported to area hospitals.

According to Zanesville Post Patrol Sergeant Jeff Jirles, troopers responded to a report of a crash involving two injuries on State Route 83 in Highland Township shortly after noon on Saturday.

Authorities said 44-year-old David Strohl of Coshocton was traveling north on State Route 83 and made a left turn from the center, colliding with a southbound vehicle driven by 21-year-old Olivia Henes of Norwich.

Sergeant Jirles said both Strohl and Henes were seriously injured and were flown by rescue helicopter to Grant Medical Center and OSU Medical Center.

A passenger in Henes’ vehicle, 21-year-old Tara Henes, also of Norwich, was taken to Genesis Hospital for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation.
