Man, two women injured after gunman opens fire on vehicle at west Houston gas station on Bellaire Boulevard, police say

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A man and two women were shot at a west Houston gas station early Monday morning, police said. Authorities said all three victims were young, between their late teens and early 20s.

Houston police were called to the 11800 block of Bellaire Boulevard, near South Kirkwood Road, shortly after 4 a.m.

At the scene, they found a vehicle with multiple bullet holes parked near a gas pump. Inside that vehicle, police found a man who had been shot several times. He was taken to hospital in critical condition.

While searching the area, officers found two women hiding behind the building, according to HPD. They had both been shot: one was shot in the hand and the other was shot in the thigh.

Both women were treated at the scene and transported to area hospitals.

Upon reviewing surveillance video, police learned that all three victims were in the same vehicle with another man. They allegedly encountered another group of people in a maroon Chevrolet vehicle.

Police believe there was some sort of transaction between the two vehicles. At one point, a suspect inside the maroon Chevrolet fired several shots, striking the victims’ vehicle multiple times. The Chevrolet left after the shooting, police said.

HPD said the uninjured man who was in the vehicle with the victims fled and has not been found.

Investigators noted they found money scattered throughout the parking lot and in the vehicle after the shooting. They did not immediately provide details on the nature of the transaction between the two vehicles.
