Fourth victim dies in brutal pipe attack in Linn County

LINN COUNTY, Iowa – A fourth person who authorities say was brutally beaten with a pipe in rural Marion last week has died.

The Linn County Sheriff’s Office announced Sunday that 34-year-old Brent Anthony Brown died of his injuries Friday. He was one of four people attacked on June 5 at 3699 E. Otter Road outside the city of Marion.

Three of the victims were pronounced dead at the scene:

• Romondus Cooper, 44, of Cedar Rapids
• Keonna Ryan, 26, of Cedar Rapids
• Amanda Parker, 33, of Vinton

Luke Truesdell, 34, is charged with first-degree murder in each of their deaths. Before Brown’s death, he was initially charged with attempted murder and now faces a fourth count of first-degree murder.

Truesdell is scheduled to appear in court on the new charges Monday morning.
