Boiler alarm – Fletcher Loyer’s homework

The offseason homework continues to be assigned as we continue with the rising junior class. This time, we take a look at the team’s best shooter, Fletcher Loyer. Ryan and I talk about his inconsistency, his ability to rebound, and the improvement he made from year one to year two. However, it wouldn’t be a conversation about Loyer if we didn’t talk a little about the fan reaction to him.

Since Ryan wasn’t there when I talked about Kanon Catchings last week, I’m giving him some time to discuss what he thinks this release from his NLI means for Catchings and for Purdue. The biggest news of the week, then, is that both Purdue’s head basketball coach Matt Painter and Purdue’s head basketball coach Katie Gearlds each received a contract extension and raise. Both seem like good moves to us.
