Arrest in connection with stabbings in East Village

NEW YORK, NY — The New York Police Department has made an arrest in connection with a violent attack that occurred last Thursday, June 6, at approximately 5:20 p.m. in front of 26 Astor Place in the 9th Precinct. The suspect, identified as 35-year-old Steven Johnson of 400 East 30th Street, New York, NY, is charged with attempted murder and assault.

The incident involved a 30-year-old male victim who was approached by Johnson and subsequently stabbed in the neck with an unknown sharp object. Following the attack, the victim was treated for a significant laceration to the neck and shoulder area and was transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue in stable condition.

Johnson was arrested by police after a brief investigation. The motives for the attack remain under investigation and the NYPD continues to ask the public for additional information on this case.

  • Drug and weapons offense in Baltimore: Three men arrested

    BALTIMORE, MD — Baltimore Police Central District DAT detectives conducted a search and seizure operation Friday that resulted in the arrest of three men and the seizure of drugs and a firearm. The operation took place around 2 p.m. in the 700 block of East Preston Street.

    During their investigation, detectives executed a search and seizure warrant and located approximately 15 pounds of cannabis and an equal amount of cannabis gummies/edibles. Additionally, a Glock 43 9mm pistol was seized with one live round in the chamber and four rounds in the magazine.

    An undisclosed amount of U.S. currency was also seized during the operation. The suspects, ages 25, 26 and 22, were subsequently arrested and transported to the Central Booking and Intake Facility for processing.

    This happened one day after two similar incidents.

    LIMA, OH – A lucky Lima resident has won a $1 million prize on the Ohio Lottery’s $20, $1,000,000 Cashword scratch-off ticket. If the winner chooses the cash option, he or she will receive $500,000 before taxes, which represents a net winnings of approximately $360,000 after 28% for state and federal taxes.

    The winning ticket was purchased at a Speedway store located at 2615 N West St in Lima. The $1,000,000 Cashword game, which costs $20 per ticket, offers an annual top prize of $40,000 for 25 years. As of Thursday, two more top prizes remain up for grabs.

  • Two found dead in triple shooting in Queens

    QUEENS, NY — Gruesome scenes unfolded in Queens Saturday night when a shooting left two men dead and a woman injured. Police responded to a 911 call at approximately 10:30 p.m. from 94-42 111th Street in the 102nd Precinct.

    Upon arrival, officers discovered a 52-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the upper body and 27-year-old Vipanpal Multani, who was found unconscious and unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds. Vipanpal was pronounced dead at the scene. The female victim was transported to Jamaica Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

    In a similar incident nearby, at 109-09 96th Avenue, 33-year-old Karamjit Multani was also found dead with a gunshot wound to the head. A firearm was found next to his body. Emergency medical services pronounced Karamjit dead at the scene.

    The relationship between the victims and the circumstances leading to the shooting are currently under investigation. No arrests have been made as authorities continue to attempt to piece together the events that led to this tragic incident.

  • NYPD asks for help identifying suspects in Midtown robbery

    NEW YORK, NY — The New York Police Department is asking the public for help in identifying two men wanted in connection with a robbery in Midtown Manhattan. The incident occurred early Friday, May 10, at around 2:25 a.m. in front of 40 West 45th Street.

    The report states that a 44-year-old man was attacked by two unknown men who punched and kicked him and forcibly took his cell phone and wallet. The suspects then fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction. The victim, who sustained injuries in the altercation, refused medical treatment.

    Authorities have released images of the suspects and are asking anyone with information to come forward to assist in the investigation and ensure the safety of the community.

  • Three people wanted for robbery a block north of Yankee Stadium

    BRONX, NY — The New York Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating suspects involved in a robbery in the 44th Precinct. The incident occurred at approximately 12:41 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, at the corner of East 165 Street and River Avenue.

    The victim, a 34-year-old man, reported that three unknown individuals approached him and demanded that he empty his pockets. They forcibly took his wallet and then fled east on East 165 Street toward the Grand Concourse. Fortunately, the victim was not physically injured during the encounter.

    The NYPD has released media images of the suspects and is asking anyone with information to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.
