UGA employee charged with sexual abuse of a child

Kenneth Russell Dobbs

A University of Georgia employee was recently arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a girl in Madison County.

Kenneth Russell Dobbs, 52, was taken into custody on May 30 on charges of child abuse and aggravated sexual assault.

The warrants were issued as part of an investigation that began in April when allegations surfaced that Dobbs committed crimes against a girl who lived in the same home as him, according to Capt. Jimmy Patton of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.

The alleged victim was between 10 and 15 years old, according to Patton, commanding officer of the MCSO Criminal Investigation Division.

He said the investigation was ongoing and further details would be released once it was completed.

In the current UGA personnel directory, Dobbs is listed as a network administrator in the EITS Network Infrastructure and Services Division.
