BARNSTABLE – A Barnstable County corrections officer was arrested by Massachusetts State Police, according to a report from the Sheriff’s Office.

Gregory Djaoen is charged with, among other things, assault with a dangerous weapon and intimidation of a witness, involving a person in custody at the correctional facility. He had been barred from contact with inmates and placed on leave prior to transfer.

The sheriff’s office issued a statement saying the department has zero tolerance for the alleged violations.

“While the case remains under criminal and administrative investigation, if the allegations are proven to be true, Barnstable County Sheriff D. Buckley will have zero tolerance for such serious violations of the law,” Communications Director KC Myers said in a statement.
